‘American Horror Story: Asylum’: Jessica Lange’s ‘The Name Game’ hits iTunes
When we first heard that Jessica Lange requested a singing and dancing number in Ryan Murphy’s hit show “American Horror Story: Asylum” we weren’t exactly sure how he was going to fit something like that into the story line since this is a heavy series revolving around horror.
The episode called “The Name Game” aired two weeks ago and finally featured Lange’s big musical number. Murphy fit it in by turning her singing and dancing bit into a hallucination in her mind where not only was she all dolled up singing about her name, but all of the patients at Briarcliff were back up dancers of sorts. While the song itself was a lot of fun, for us the musical interlude just didn’t work with the content that had already been established by Murphy and felt like we were taken out of “American Horror Story: Asylum” and brought into a completely different show, but regardless of what we thought, fans seemed to love Lange’s rendition of “The Name Game” and have been trying to find a way to get the song on their iPods.
Murphy posted a message on his Twitter account saying that because of the demand by the fans, “The Name Game” is now available on iTunes for fans to purchase. He wrote: “By popular demand: Jessica Lange’s The Name Game is now on iTunes.”
The next new episode of “American Horror Story: Asylum” will be airing on Wednesday, January 16 at 10 p.m. on FX. The episode called “Continuum” will focus around Grace as her alien obsession becomes violent (certainly she will have some sort of confrontation with Alma).
