‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ episode 11 review: Kenya and Phaedra butt heads over workout video
On tonight’s episode of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” Kenya sat down with her cousin, Che, and her aunt Lori to talk about what happened with Walter. She said that she told Walter that she felt like he wasn’t respecting her or loving her in the way she needed and ultimately broke off her relationship with him. Lori says that she found the situation with Kenya and Walter in Anguilla to be the most troubling – the way he treated her while they were there and the fight that they had over marriage and their future. Che reveals to Kenya that she has always felt that Walter was a “weirdo” and admits that he tried to chat her up before he was with Kenya.
Later, Phaedra and Apollo meet up with Kenya at the gym to talk about their new workout video and figure out what the vision is going to be. Kenya tells them that based on their star power alone they already have an offer for distribution of the video and that the budget for filming the video is going to come in at around $100,000.
In Los Angeles, NeNe has moved into a new house out there so that she can be close to work (on “Glee” and “The New Normal”). NeNe asks Greg to make things a little easier on her while she’s working, but Greg tells her that she needs to give up control and let that happen.
Later Phaedra sits down with Kenya to talk to her about her budget for the workout video along with Kenya’s request to have 10% of the back end from the video. Kenya feels that with all the work she’s done to not only get the video made, but also securing a distribution deal she should have some ownership in the project. Phaedra reveals that she spoke to Kandi’s boyfriend Todd about what he can do for her as far as budget for the work out video, and Kenya is insulted that she’s done that considering how much work she’s already put into the project.
Kandi throws a birthday party for Todd and at the party Kenya tries to smooth things over with Apollo after the intense conversation at Phaedra’s office over payment for the workout video. Apollo says that he doesn’t know what to do about the situation, but understands that she deserves some money for her work. He talks to Phaedra about what Kenya said and she still feels that Kenya should bnot be getting back end on the project.
Even though this is Todd’s birthday party, Kenya decides that this is the right place to bring up his dealings with Phaedra and her work out video. Kandi tells her that it’s inappropriate to bring this up at his party, shutting the conversation down.
The next day Kenya meets up with Cynthia at her casting agency to talk about the work out video and she gets Cynthia up to speed on what’s happened between her and Phaedra. Cynthia is shocked that Phaedra wants all this work for nothing and when Phaedra shows up Cynthia makes it clear to Phaedra that she expects to be paid for her work. Phaedra clears up the situation saying that she never offered her nothing for her time, just that she wouldn’t give her 10% back end and in fact she feels that she doesn’t deserve any back end at all. Kenya pulls out of the project completely.
