‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9: Official renewal coming any day
Even though it has been reported pretty much everywhere that “How I Met Your Mother” is basically coming back to CBS, the network has not yet actually nodded its head to reassure fans everywhere that it will indeed be returning. Nonetheless, take a deep sigh of relief: it would be a complete and utter shock if we do not see the likes of Ted, Robin, and Marshall on TV in the fall again.
During their TCA panel on Saturday, CBS executive Nina Tassler explained that there would be some sort of official announcement coming on the show almost any day now, and that some of the finer details for the show were currently being hammered out. As for what some of these details are, we’re assuming that they are merely tiny notes here and there pertaining to the schedule, since most of the financial considerations seem to already be worked out.
Know this, though: if there was really any chance that the show was not going to be coming on television for another go-around in the future, the initial reports about its renewal would not have come out to begin with. “How I Met Your Mother” in indeed coming back on the air, and it will hopefully be stronger than ever as the show inches closer to answer the question that everyone has been wondering for almost a decade: who is the mother of Ted’s children? This additional season likely does mean that we are going to be waiting a little bit longer than previously planned in order to see the wedding between Barney and Robin.
