‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: More on Robin Sparkles’ return
As you saw in a recent promo video released by CBS, “How I Met Your Mother” season 8 is really looking to create quite a bit of buzz with what could be one of the final chapters (if not the final chapter) of the Robin Sparkles era airing in February. This episode is going to feature a number of major Canadian stars (plus James Van Der Beek making a return appearance), and also should have Canadian jokes aplenty for those of you who are into that sort of thing (which may or may not include Canadians depending on just how much of a sense of humor that they have).
So why are we getting this super-sized episode, really? As executive producer Carter Bays explains to Entertainment Weekly, this may be the episode that explains why Robin Sparkles really stopped being Robin Sparkles, and how Cobie Smulders’ character ended up reinventing herself and moving to America:
“It’s a whole new way of seeing a new part of Robin Sparkles history that also has an effect on the present day dynamics between Robin and Barney … But it’s going to be really fun.”
Are we actually going to see someone actually remember Robin for her pop alter-ego in the present day? That is something that we have been hoping to see for some time, as there has to be some fellow Canadians out there in New York who would not be completely oblivious to who Robin was while they were growing up (that is, if she was as big of a star in Canada as she has been hyped up to be).
Do you think that this episode will be the end of this portion of the show? If you want to watch a preview for “How I Met Your Mother” airing on Monday night featuring Barney and Robin, you can do so over at the link here.
