‘Supernatural’ season 8 spoilers: A title with a Disney reference
“Supernatural” has long been creative when it comes to crafting some of their episode titles (“LARP and the Real Girl,” “Man’s Best Friends with Benefits”), so very rarely do we see one that is identical to the title of a film without any sort of changes to it at all. Then again, we’re not quite sure that there are a ton of people out there that remember the title of the movie we are about to talk about to begin with.
According to SpoilerTV, the title for the upcoming 18th episode of season 8 is going to be “The Apple Dumpling Gang,” which also happens to be the title of a 1975 Disney movie all about a group of orphans who manage to find gold during the great gold rush in California during the mid-19th century. We don’t really have any idea just yet as to whether or not this title is meant to be a clue to the movie, especially since not many people are that aware of this film unless you were either a child of the 1970s or you are old enough to see the movie frequently repeated on children’s television in the 1990s.
By the time the show arrives at this episode, hopefully we have a number of other questions answered, included just what mission Castiel (Misha Collins) is going to have along with mysterious new angel Naomi (Amanda Tapping), and also whether or not Amelia is going to be a permanent fixture at Sam’s side.
What do you think about this episode title, and do you think it is meant to be a tribute to either the movie or its plot? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can take a more comprehensive look at all sorts of upcoming episode titles by visiting the story over at the link here.
