ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: Meet Fitz’s father!
“Scandal” season 2 started to turn into one of the best network dramas on TV during much of its fall run; and now that we are moving into the new year, we have some new and rather welcome casting news to share!
According to a brand-new report from TVLine, former “Spin City” actor Barry Bostwick has signed on to the hit ABC series in order to play the role of Fitz’s father on the upcoming January 17 episode. This will be the show’s second episode back after its return to TV on Thursday, and it will actually be one of the more intense episodes of the season, as the first arc of the season was designed to be thirteen episodes in the event that a back nine was not picked up.
Bostwick’s character has a history of being a major player in the world of politics in his own right, even if he is of course in no way the same sort of titan in this universe as Fitz is. He’s also well-known for having a good sense of humor, but can be a little much for some of the people that he comes into contact with. Who knows? Maybe he will show up to help raise his son’s spirits, which he certainly needs considering his current state in the hospital. His dealings with Olivia are far from over, even if she is also going to be spending some time trying to help Huck.
What do you think about this casting? Just in case you can absolutely not get enough of “Scandal” these days, be sure to head over to the link here in order to watch the brutal interrogation scene that is going to be helping to kick off the new episode Thursday.
