ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5: Check out new photos of Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic

It’s been a long wait over the holidays, but after almost a month off of the air, “Castle” is going to be resuming season 5 on ABC with an all-new episode airing on Monday night. So with this in mind, why not celebrate with some just-released shots of two of the show’s most-popular cast members in Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic?

When it comes to the former, we have a feeling that this one is really not going to make anyone drop their jaw, as it’s basically just Fillion’s Richard Castle looking as suave and sophisticated as ever. This is basically a pose that they have had the character in for years now, and in some ways it is interesting to see him get the serious poses considering that he is one of the biggest sources for comic relief on the entire show.

Meanwhile, Katic’s pose, despite her character of Kate Beckett being at times tough-as-nails, is fare more free-spirited and edgy. This is not a pose that we would ever see Beckett do within the precinct, but one of the nicer aspects of her relationship with Castle this season is that it has enabled her to be a little more willing to show off her carefree side, which is a nice change given how difficult she was to connect to at the very beginning of this series.

The Castle / Beckett relationship is going to be put to the test on the show almost right away, as the first episode back (in “Significant Others”) will put the two parties in a situation where their long-term viability will be a hot topic. Not only will they be involved in a case about relationships, but Beckett will get to spend some time with one of Castle’s exes.
