‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ finale spoilers: Check out the episode’s title
On January 23 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time (one week before our most-anticipated new series of 2013 in “The Americans” premieres), FX will be saying goodbye to “American Horror Story” for the season with an episode fittingly titled “Madness Ends.” This is where hopefully every loose end of the entire season will be hopefully tied up, since this is hardly like other shows where they can just create a cliffhanger and have it keep people waiting until the following season premieres.
We should warn you now, though, that the synopsis for this episode (which comes to us via FX) may contain some minor spoilers, at least when it comes to the sort of inferences you can make based on the events described:
“Johnny sets out to complete his father’s work. Lana leads the charge to finally shut down Briarcliff. Written by Tim Minear; directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon.”
First of all, we’re finally relieved to see that this present-day storyline, which to us has been the weakest element of the entire show, is going to be given some sort of proper resolution. In addition to that, is Lana going to be out of Briarcliff? It’s ultimately still hard to see how she is going to be able to shut down the place from within, though at the same time we don’t really know if she is going to have any resistance in her quest to take the place down. Sister Mary Eunice and Arden are now both dead, and Sister Jude has lost her mind to such an extent that she is more or less rendered useless.
What do you think about this episode’s title? If you want to hear what Jessica Lange has to say about a potential “American Horror Story” season 3, you can do so over at the link here.
