‘New Girl’ season 2 spoilers: More details on Nick’s father

Who in the world is responsible for creating “New Girl’s” Nick Miller? Considering that the man is so unique bizarre (and one of our personal favorite characters on TV these days), you knew that he was going to have quite an unusual origin story; and with that in mind, we are going to find out all about it during the Fox comedy’s second episode back from hiatus on January 15 (entitled “A Father’s Love”).

You may already know that Dennis Farina is going to be playing the character, and that he is hardly the sort of person that Jake Johnson’s character would want to look up to. However, what you may not have known going into this was just how Jess is (unsurprisingly) going to get herself involved in the Miller family business, including by trying to help two people reconcile who may not have any business doing so. Be sure to check out the synopsis as follows:

“When Nick’s con-man father (guest star Farina) suddenly reappears, Jess tries her best to fix the two men’s relationship, despite Nick’s fears that he’s being used in another one of his dad’s gambling schemes. Meanwhile, Schmidt teams up with Robby to try to win back Cece.”

As for the second half of this synopsis, Schmidt is definitely one persistent guy! Who knew that he was going to still be putting so much effort into Cece? Well, everyone probably knew that. What comes across as a little bit more of a surprise is that Cece’s own ex Robbie (who was not interesting in having kids soon) was going to be the person to help him go through with the plan.
