‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4, episode 10 preview: Who is the focus?
When “The Vampire Diaries” season 4 does return from its lengthy hiatus on January 17, it is going to feel like a rather long time since we have seen the likes of Damon, Nina, and Stefan on our TV screens. However, what is rather interesting already is that the person who is really in the crosshairs here is a character who has been gone from the show in some shape or form for far longer than that.
Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Julie Plec explained that this episode (“After School Special”), a certain Original vampire played by Claire Holt is going to be front and center as she looks to put together the pieces, albeit a tad maliciously, for what has transpired during her lengthy absence courtesy of a strategically-placed dagger:
“It has a lot to do with what Rebekah’s up to. She’s been gone for quite some time. She’s missed a lot. So [in] her efforts to try to get information out of everybody…she gets caught up on the goings-on in Mystic Falls in her absence, including that Stefan and Elena are broken up, that Elena slept with Damon, that there’s a sire bond at play, that the cure hasn’t been found yet – all kinds of great things which she gets out of them in the form of a pretty malicious detention at school.”
There are still some other mysteries coming up pertaining to this character, as we have still to try and figure out just where Rebekah fits in the big picture of the story moving forward. Could she hook up with Matt? We’re hoping so; and if nothing else, it does appear as though she and April are going to have at least a few more scenes together moving forward.
What do you think: is the return of Rebekah a great thing, or (to quote Stephen Colbert) the greatest thing to happen on “The Vampire Diaries” season 4 so far? If you want to read some more couples speculation for the show, you can do so over at the link here.
