‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Latest on Britney Spears, Carly Rose Sonenclar
Is Britney Spears going to be back on “The X Factor” USA next year? For all fans of the hit Fox reality show, this is definitely the million-dollar question. Sadly, it is not one that we are going to know an answer about anytime soon.
So what is the timeline for this decision? Simon Cowell, the producers, the sponsors, and Fox will sit down at some point in January or February for a meeting where they review what unfolded over the course of the past several months, and then determine where they want to go from there. This cannot necessarily be good news for the “Scream and Shout” singer, considering that she received a great deal of criticism for having remarkably succinct critiques all season long coupled with an enormous $15 million contract.
For the time being, at least Britney can take some solace in the fact that Cowell is paying (per E! News) that he is interested in having her back for another go:
“I haven’t had the conversation with her whether she’d want to, what other commitments she’s got … Yeah, I think I do, yeah. But like I said, and it goes back to LA, it all depends on how much time they can give us.”
In case you are looking for a reason to keep Britney, it is that she did seem to at least be a respected mentor, and she had such kind things to say as this about her finalist Carly Rose Sonenclar:
“The way [Carly Rose] is kind of shy and then she gets on stage and it’s an insane voice. When I was younger, she reminds me a lot of me.”
Britney probably helped Carly moving forward in allowing her to be a little bit more open to varying performances on stage, but it is to be seen just if she will keep in contact with her moving forward. (In case you have not heard, Carly and Fifth Harmony are both expected to get record deals via Sony Music.)
Do you think Britney should stay put, and what do you think she brings to the show? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below!

The whole show is RIGGED. The voting system is a joke. Having the judges as mentors is a joke to our legal system. Never revealing the actual number of votes per performer, then staging the singoffs. was idiotic and disrespectful to the viewer.. Tate Stevens won, because he will never be able to live up to the terms of his contract. thus he will never see the full 5 mill… Carley was undermined, so Simon would get the chance to buy her out cheap, then make millions off her.. Are Americans so stupid, that they cant see how poorly disorganized this program is? I FOR one will not be watching next year. I quit watching AGT in 2010, when jackie evancho lost to michael grimm. I quit watching xfactor in 2012, when Carley Rose lost to Tate Stevens…

Britney might not give the best feedbacks during the show but as a mentor there is no denying that she knows what she is doing with her contestants way better then demi livato. i really liked Britney on the show, and loved demi’s feedbacks and her little arguments with simon from time to time XD.
the thing i dont agree on was that Britney should not have allowed that Rimes to do the duet with Carly they were so incompatible.

Oh and Sarah, she gave her song choices that were driving my the theme of the night and took crap songs like Justin bebers song and made them relevant for a voting age group that appeals to shows like XFactor.. not a bunch of bangers or teeny bobbers.

Thank You Anna -Maria, You hit my feelings 100% on the mark and articulated it better than I could have. You’re 110% right on your accessment of her and I was in the same camp as you were about her. Unfortunately I think Simon was more interested in or hoping to see the crazy Brit all for the sake of his show. It didn’t happen and she shined. In all honesty Carly not winning but coming in second was probably the best thing that could have happened for her. She with her Parents will have far more control over what direction she takes. Briteny has more insight on her little finger about the perals she could face. Second while I am not or was not a big fan of her music she has managed to stay at the top of sales her entire career. Watching her on this show makes me think she had far more to do with it than we knew…
Jovelyn.. all I can say is I agree

i had watched the x factor usa season 2 and for me the strongest team was the britney’s team. I believed she had managed her team so well. Just look how Britney had helped Carly..she let american people knew how Carly can be a sensational artist when Carly performed It will rain by Bruno Mars, can be a diva when Carly performed My heart will go on by Celine Dion, can be a great soprano artist when Carly performed Somewhere over the rainbow, Carly almost like Adele when she performed the Rolling in the deep, can be a great acoustic artist when Carly performed As long as you loved me by Justin Bieber and If i were a boy by Beyonce,
Britney also helped Carly to show her magical R and B side just like what Demi lovato said when Carly performed It’s your song and Imagine. The Best thing Britney had done to Carly is she still managed to let american people realized how Carly can be the next Huge Pop star Artist in america when Carly performed so great in the final battle and in the grand result night. Watch Carly performances of Feeling Good, How do I live, Hallelujah, All i want for Christmas, and the Climb..so good for me. Britney’s protege did not won the competition, it just happened because you cannot remove the fact how many american people are inlove with country music which Tate represented. At the end of this Britney only did was bring all her acts to the next level of the competition not just only to win on the x factor usa but to let people see her acts on all their other side like Carly (to go at the same time with all popular music artist in the world and compete). (see how Carly captured the hearts of all people around the world, Britney is so wise to show all the side of Carly specially the rnb side, now Carly has so many fans in ASIA, EUROPE..so good Britney’s strategy, now the xfactor america will have their own product of a great international artist soon.

I have had a lot of judgement on Britney Spears from the media etc. Because of seeing her on x factor, I have a completely new feeling about her and an awesome respect that has taken me for a complete 360. I had no idea that she had so much to offer. She is what the contestants benefit from also. Her restraint, composure and mentorship attributes were great to witness. I loved x factor even more for bringing her in. Here she was an amazing role model. PLEASE KEEP HER. There is a lot people can learn from her. She would step out more and give more feedback; if she was told to give more of that in the first place the situation may have been much different. It would be sad to see Brittany go. She is great. Please keep her.

You guys that are bagging on Britney are out of your F&^%ng mind. What she didn’t do is come off as the carzy that everyone was hoping for. As far as insight and helping Carly if ANYONE knows the pit falls of being a young star and what to avoid and how to navigate it would be Britney… Carly didn’t win in my opinion has more to do with crap said and done by Simon last two weeks of the compettion.

I think Britanny hindered Carly Rose chance for winning. She gave her HORRIBle
song choices and mentored her very badly. Carly Rose is just so talented that you could not stop her. I think with Simon as her mentor she would have been number one. Oh Well. She will succeed in spite of Britanny

Carly who is a genuine revelation, was weighted down with a tramp of a mentor (Spears behaviour was bordering on being retarded). Britney managed to cause Carly’s decline through the competition (idiot Britney-like clothing, weird song choices). If you disagree, watch Carly singing the same song during auditions and show finale.
Yes, pay this has-been another fortune for moronic comments, retarded face expressions and possibly for wasting somebody else’s chance to win.
C’mon Yanks, you can do better!
