‘The X Factor’ UK notes: What are James Arthur, Rylan Clark up to?
Weeks after the end of “The X Factor” UK, both winner James Arther and another notable contestant in Rylan Clark are each still in the spotlight … albeit for a pair of very different reasons.
First, we turn to some very good news coming out courtesy of the reigning champ: according to early projections, he is poised yet again to be #1 with “Impossible.” The song reportedly sold 125,000 copies in the past week, which allows it to jump back into the top spot after failing to get the famed “Christmas #1” the week prior. Then again, the singer hardly has a reason to be upset considering the fact that he has had the fastest-selling winners’ single for the British talent competition since Alexandra Burke.
As for the act who came out on top over him last week, the Justice Collective’s charity single “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” is set to drop to #4 this week, behind PSY’s megahit “Gangnam Style” and the new will.i.am – Britney Spears collaboration “Scream & Shout.” The UK has always been very kind to the Black Eyed Peas member, who is also a judge on their version of “The Voice.”
Rylan Clark news – Just in case anyone has not heard yet, but the popular contestant this year (who is also known for being supremely entertaining) is heavily rumored to be a part of “Celebrity Big Brother” this season, and current oddsmakers even have him as a 3/1 favorite to win the entire competition at the moment. This may not actually be an understatement at all, especially when you consider that Frankie Cocozza did pretty well on the show last year, despite being kicked off the singing competition over claims of drug use. (Rylan was also much more entertaining than Frankie ever was.)
