‘Arrow’ episode 10 preview: More on Firefly’s arrival, Oliver Queen’s absence
Just like “Arrow” is taking a hiatus of several weeks over the course of the holiday season, it looks as though Oliver Queen is going to be doing the same exact thing. When the show returns with “Burned” on January 16, it will have been six weeks in the timeline of the show since Stephen Amell’s character first put on the famous hood and went around trying to cross names off of his list.
So what convinces him to come back? We’ve already shared via a recent promo that it is Katie Cassidy’s Laurel that plays a major role in it, but the official synopsis for the episode (which was just released by The CW) helps to make that even clearer:
“Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) confidence is shaken after being beaten by the Dark Archer and he takes a break from being Arrow. However, when Laurel (Katie Cassidy) calls Arrow for help investigating a firefighter’s suspicious death, he reluctantly agrees but his hesitance while fighting almost costs him his life. Meanwhile, Tommy (Colin Donnell) throws a benefit for the firefighters and Thea (Willa Holland) tries to lift Moira (Susanna Thompson) out of her depressive state.”
Somewhere in here, we would be surprised if we do not learn a little bit more about the Dark Archer, especially given the recent stunner that this man is actually Tommy’s father. He seems to be the one with the master plan and the true Big Bad of the series, and while it seems as though this episode is going to lead Oliver down a road where he will meet Firefly (or at least the show’s version of him), this storyline is going to be turning up at some point soon.
