‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6: Another major victory for Sheldon Cooper
Do you want some more evidence as to just how dominant “The Big Bang Theory” has become over the course of the past several seasons? Well, we now have some more for you now courtesy of the newest live+3 data that is coming in for the show, which is measured through a combination of live viewing mixed with those who chose to watch it on DVR for the three days that follow.
For the last new episode that aired on December 13, CBS announced on Friday that the show increased its audience from a 5.5 in the 18-49 demographic to a gargantuan 7.1, which once again makes this the most-watched show on network TV by a long shot. In addition to that, the new figures also helped the show to increase to over 20 million viewers.
This is a question that we have asked for some time now, but are the ratings ever going to subside here? We’re honestly not sure that it will happen here, given America’s love for all things geek culture at the moment, and the fact that producers have been fairly conservative when it comes to implementing drastic changes that will alter the foundation on which the show was based. For one, this includes allowing the relationships to take baby steps rather than massive leaps forward, and it also includes making sure that any relationship or development in their personal life does not ultimately change anything for the worse.
Are you surprised that “The Big Bang Theory” remains so popular, and what do you think needs to be done in order for the show to keep it up? We want to hear from you below!
