‘The X Factor’ USA finale: Emblem3 helps Fifth Harmony; has Tate Stevens won?
At this point in less than twelve hours, we are going to find out just who is the champion of “The X Factor” USA season 2 … and if the recent voting patterns hold, we could end up seeing a pretty big fight to the finish.
If you were just judging the champion based on some of the voting results that are coming in, the obvious choice to win here would be none other than Carly Rose Sonenclar. In our own post-show poll, she has over 50% of the total vote, and she also is pulling similar figures from many other websites (though with slightly less of an advantage). While we were annoyed about hearing the millionth version of “Hallelujah,” the fact that she sang it so darn well seems to be making up for the fact that it is one of the most overdone songs in reality TV history. Strangely, we are also starting to wonder if that awful mess of a performance with LeAnn Rimes has actually helped to garner Carly Rose some sympathy votes, mostly because that was clearly not her fault.
But could Tate Stevens still surpass her? The one thing to remember with our resident country star is that he has never really been an enormous draw in online votes, but he has a large contingent of supporters who will dial ill their votes without ever turning on a computer. That’s why he is still at the moment our pick to win, especially since he had a solid (if unspectacular) night of country songs that appeal to his fanbase. Plus, he did not suffer a duet disaster.
As for Fifth Harmony, having the endorsement of the recently-eliminated Emblem3 could help. However, Simon Cowell didn’t really do the group many favors this week. We liked their performances the best this week, but they also had more practice at them. Three out of the group’s past five performances have been repeats of songs they have done previously in the competition, and for “Let It Be” last night, the girls barely sang together at all. It is possible that these ladies shock the world, but we’re only putting the odds at around 5% (if that).
Who do you think is going to win “The X Factor” USA Thursday night? If you want to read our full review of the performance show, you can do so over here.

the fact is that there are alot of good vocalists in the top three, but to me it feels like their performances get boring after a while. carly is great, but she is always great and the shine and the specialness of her voice has worn off. emblem3 brought real excitement and great energy to the show, that i felt was missing this week. that is why they will be sucsesfull outside of x factor, because they have the whole package. that is just my opinion…

Loved Carly and LeAnn

I loved the duet here. It was raw and natural, real and heartfelt. I could feel the strong connection and emotion between them. Bravo! Loved it. Not overproduced but indicative of two stars just having fun and, well, loving each other. LeAnn was about the same age as Carly when she started, so I understand the connection. On Leno the other night, LeAnn mentioned she was battling a cold. Well, sometimes life just happens. Do we make lemonade out of lemons? I believe she did. Further, each allowed each other upstage at times, and shared stage at others. Nice give and take mutuality. It was a powerful, authentic rendition. Absolutely loved it, like I said earlier. Reminds me of accepting each other where we are and making the best out of circumstances. I was utterly moved. It sounded raspy at times, but oh so good that way.
