VH1’s ‘Divas’: Adam Lambert, Miley Cyrus among performers
Even though many shows were already over for 2012, Sunday night still turned out to be a rather big one when it came to programming. Not only were there finales across the board on many networks, VH1 had an episode that was really all about music, honoring women of the past, and more or less just having a great time.
When it comes to their “Divas” special on Sunday night, Adam Lambert certainly helped to deliver all of that and then some courtesy of a combination of humor and pure rocking out on stage, After taking part in a funny opening for the show, he also performed a take on “Let’s Dance” that was thoroughly electric and plenty of fun. Later on in the night, he also went back to the stage in order to perform another popular hit song in “Ray of Light.” All in all, the singer really had himself quite the night.
To make matters even better on the night, there were some other great performances to boot. Pitbull came out with a amazingly energetic performance, and we also saw Miley Cyrus once again prove that even though there may be so much attention frequently diverted to her appearance or her history with Disney, she really can sing at the very end of the day. Some other stars who appeared on the ceremony include the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks … two other people with rather distinct “American Idol” connections.
If you want to watch some videos of Adam from the “Divas” special, you can do so over here so long as you are viewing the internet in America. Canadian viewers should be pleased to know that the special will be airing on MuchMusic a little later in the week.

Totally agree about Miley! I watched her performance this morning… The girl can really sing and she doesn’t get enough credit for it. I’ve been a fan for a few years, and it was her voice that drew me in. People wonder why she’s the biggest thing to come out of Disney as well as make it big in the mainstream? She has the talent and the stage presence… the “X Factor.” Ironic how Demi Lovato is sitting on a judging panel right now and she is nowhere near Miley’s level. Her performance yesterday wasn’t very good – too many vocal runs, piercing belts, and her voice simply doesn’t carry very well.
