‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: What comes next for the cure?
Are the characters on “The Vampire Diaries” (at least the ones with fangs) really going to find a way to cure the curse that has been put upon them? Believe it or not, but they are actually going to be coming closer than ever when the show picks up season 4 again on January 17.
Of course, in order to find the cure there are still a number of other steps that need to be taken, with the principal of which being the characters having to find a way to uncover the site of Silas’ imprisonment. It is only then that they can devise a way (with the help of one Professor Shane) to reverse the effects of an ailment that was first created by the first immortal man himself.
Luckily, we do know now that the writers are not going to be wasting much time in going down this road when the show does return. Speaking to TV Guide, executive producer Julie Placed promises that there is still a lot to learn moving forward when it comes to both Silas and Shane:
“When we get back there’s a run of five episodes that is our Silas chapter and it brings everything to a head as far as those things are concerned.”
So what is Shane’s real motivation in doing all of this? We know that he still is holding on to some sort ulterior motive that he is keeping from the vampires, and it could be some interesting ties that he has to Silas himself. No matter what, though, the good news is that we will be learning something fairly soon.

Anonymous: The series is LOOSELY based on the books…they said from the very beginning that they were not going to go step by step through the books, that they were just using the IDEA from the books as a jumping off point. And TV Shows give fans what they want eventually….and what the majority of the fans want is Damon and Elena!! I agree, damon’s love is unconditional, Stefan’s is not. Do you think DAMON would have let her die in that car in the water at the end of season 3??? No way, Damon wants to take care of Elena!! I think that Stefan and Elena MAY get back together, but it’s always gonna come back to Damon and Elena…it’s like that with every TV Show….Ross and Rachel in Friends, Ryan and Marissa in The O.C., etc, etc, etc! Even if Damon and Elena end up breaking up for a bit, they will end up together, as it is obviously what the majority of the fans want… Stefan is boring!! Damon is hot and sexy!!!!!!!

I have never really like Stephen and Elena together, their relationship is annoyingly normal. Elena and Damon together is way more interesting. Although with the sire bonding, the relationship kind of got ruined, because they’re saying her feelings aren’t real, which I think they are, she had feelings for him as a human. And I hope to see Caroline with Klaus, and I think she will change him for the good, she already has in some ways.

First off the books and the show are completly different with that said i am not fan of either pairing. I don’t agree i don’t think stephen is being selfish i think he wants her to be free to make her own choices not banded to a sire.

We all know that she loves Damon (I’m all for DE) but she ends up with Stefan, well at least in the books :( and it’s Damon that gets cured (in the books)..Let’s see which storyline JP stays true to

I think SE fans are just blind if they think that SE will ever get back together. First, Stefan’s love for Elena is selfish, he loves her conditionaly which makes his love very unreal and fake. Whereas, Damon loves Elena unconditionaly, his love is therefore unconditional and real. Anyway, this is just my prediction, what I think will happen later on in this Season. I think bw the episodes; 4×14, 4×15 or 4×16, Elena will become a Human again. And, everyone including Stefan, Caroline and Damon will think that she’ll go back to Stefan because they believe that Elena only loved Damon as a Vampire because she was sired to him. BUT, the surprising thing would be that she’ll still go and choose Damon. Finally, it will clarify this fact that as a Human or as a Vampire, Elena always did and always will love Damon. Her feelings for Stefan have vanished and disappeared now. After all this, Elena will decide to become a Vampire again to be with Damon forever. Lets face it, in 2×20, Elena made it very clear that she doesn’t want to spend her ‘forever’ with Stefan. But, she’ll do it with Damon. I really hope that this happens…

Why do we only talk about curing Elena, what about Caroline or the other vampires… It’s tiring to just keep talking about Elena … as if she hasn’t cause enough deaths in Mystic Falls.
