‘The X Factor’ USA: Fifth Harmony, Emblem3 react to elimination shocker
Going into this week, we really were not alone when it came to the belief that Fifth Harmony really had little to no chance at actually sticking around on “The X Factor” USA; there performances were solid, but they weren’t quite doing enough to overtake anyone and surge into the top three. However, their performance of “Anything Can Happen” changed that. The girl group went from being a token fourth-place team to a possible contender, though it did end up coming at the expense of another group in Emblem3.
Considering that Simon Cowell has been pretty much touting these boys as the next big thing, how upset are they over going home? As it turns out, they’re really not that upset at all. In a post on their Twitter account not long after they were sent packing, the band had the following to say:
“Hey there beautiful people! We just want to say thank you so much to the people who voted and to our new fans! We love you all so much!”
The group also posted their audio for “Sunset Boulevard,” the original song that really was the reason that so many people ended up rooting for them in the first place. Why didn’t Simon let them do more of this? It’s possible that he was a little too obsessed with trying to craft the American One Direction that he forgot from time to time to show the audience who these guys really were, and that was more of a ska / pop fusion group.
As for Fifth Harmony, we’ll let the following message serve as the perfect blanket statement for all of the ladies:
“THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!! WE ARE IN SO MUCH SHOCK. WE CAN’T THANK Y’ALL ENOUGH. THIS IS THE BEST FEELING!!!!!”
Who do you think of these two groups has a better chance at having an actual career moving forward? If you want to read more on L.A. Reid’s just-announced exit from the panel, you can do so over at the link here.

Thank you for hitting the nail over the head on Simon. He needs to be called out for his greed. I hate how he assumes that we Americans are idiots. His One Direction wasn’t even the perfect formula. Sure, they’re popular now, but only Liam Payne has real talent in that group, and will probably leave within a year or two.
5th Harmony won’t be going anywhere. They lack proper direction, mentoring, and coaching. They’ll need at least a year or so with each other to morph into a real group.
Emblem3 should just sever ties with Simon before he destroys their identity and commercializes their original music. Maybe now that LA is leaving, he can just sign them to Epic Records.
