‘The X Factor’ UK: Christopher Maloney will join James Arthur, others on tour
Even though the folks over at “The X Factor” UK may not be particularly thrilled with Christopher Maloney at the moment, it looks as though this is not going to stop the controversial singer by any means when it comes to taking part in the show’s upcoming live tour across Britain later this year.
The only thing that has been factually reported at the moment concerning Sunday night’s final is rather simple: Christopher was not present for the group performance, and he was sent home. As for why he went back to Liverpool, that issue is up for debate: he claims that he was ill following a rigorous competition, whereas other tabloids have reported everything from him being hung over to him being angry over a perceived lack of attention slotted for him despite his third-place finish.
While none of Maloney’s fellow contestants from the season publicly have trashed him for leaving the live final (save for some allegations thrown at Carolynne Poole by the man himself), some other participants in the tour, including James, have actually been petitioning to get Kye Sones to join them, possibly as a replacement. However, that does not appear to be happening for now, which is a dire shame since Swedish House Mafia covers go down so well live.
For now, Maloney will probably spend the rest of the year resting and decompressing after a year that included everything from judges’ criticism to death threats on Twitter. Meanwhile, Arthur has been visiting several cities in Britain in support of his winning single “Impossible,” which is already the best-selling track of any “X Factor” UK winner in years straight off of the show.
What do you think: should Christopher go on tour, or leave this to someone like Kye who is a little less controversial? If you want to see why we think that Simon Cowell returning would not solve the show’s current ratings crisis, be sure to head on over to the link here.
