‘The Walking Dead’ season 3 spoilers: Will we learn about the zombie outbreak?
‘The Walking Dead’ series threw viewers right into the pool during season 1, where we met our heroes already fighting walkers and trying to figure out just what the heck happened, but will viewers ever have a chance to find out how this outbreak happened in the first place or will it remain a mystery?
The closest we’ve come to seeing anything about the outbreak were through flashbacks to just a few days after it happened with Shane in the hospital with Rick, but other then that there hasn’t been much information about how this all started. We have learned that the disease has evolved and that everyone is infected whether they have been bitten or not, so when are we going to learn about the origins of the disease? Comic creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman spoke to TV guide about whether or not viewers will learn about the actual outbreak and said that it’s not going to happen. He said:
“I don’t find that to be interesting at all. In zombie fiction, you see the outbreak, you see the first days and the craziness in almost every other story told in this realm. I’m very proud of the fact that, for the most part, The Walking Dead has skipped over that part.”
Kirkman went on to say that if you really want to learn about what a zombie outbreak looks like that fans should check out “Dawn of the Dead”, because they cover that really well, but as far as “The Walking Dead” is concerned, viewers shouldn’t hold their breath.
