‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4, episode 9 preview: Ian Somerhalder surprised again
Is Elena Gilbert staging an intervention for her brother? We’re not quite sure that you can call it that, but on Thursday night’s midseason finale for “The Vampire Diaries” season 4, Nina Dobrev’s character is clearly going to be doing her part to try and help Jeremy out, even if there is a part of him that wants to kill her against his own free will.
As you can see in the latest sneak peek below, Elena and her new “boyfriend?” Damon stop by in order to try and figure out how they can fix Jeremy from his current state of mind, which apparently includes chopping wood at an isolated house and showing off some ripped biceps. Bonnie is also there to help him out … but so is Professor Shane? This is where things get a little bit more confusing, giving that Ian Somerhalder’s vampire character had no idea at all that he was going to be there. With that in mind, it is probably even more of a surprise to learn that it was actually Elena who sent the invite over.
By the end of this episode, hopefully we will have an opportunity to learn just what exactly Elena can do to help Jeremy, just like we will hopefully learn if it is possible for the unlikely allies of Klaus and Stefan to actually find a way to cure vampirism for good. There is also the Klaus / Caroline relationship to deal with, and Tyler Lockwood is going to be continuing down his road as a hybrid liberator.
What are you most excited to see during this episode, and why do you think Shane is present for whatever the group is planning to do to Jeremy? If you want to find out some more information on what this professor character is hiding, you can do so over here.
