‘The Xtra Factor’ final: Olly Murs reveals Christopher Maloney voting shocker
Following the victory of James Arthur on “The X Factor” UK Sunday night, “The Xtra Factor” had themselves a massive afterparty courtesy of interviews, funny moments (including Jahmene claims that he should have went on “Strictly Come Dancing”), and the judges continuing to hype up both James and Jahmene Douglas as contenders to be massive stars in the recording business.
Even after the show Sunday, the judges continuing to play pretty nice when it came to the man who ultimately came out on top along with his runner-up. For more evidence of that, just check out this quote below that comes to us courtesy of Gary Barlow:
“Either of these guys could have won. The albums are going to be great … I think we’ve seen what they are going to do already. James, his could come out next week for me.”
As fun as this show was (and believe us, it was fun), the things that we were the most interested to see were the judges’ picks along with some of the voting statistics from the season. Most of the judges (and host Dermot O’Leary) actually picked Ella Henderson to win the show while the competition was still at the bootcamp phase, whereas Caroline Flack hilariously had picked Times Red. When it comes to the voting statistics, it was revealed that Christopher Maloney was actually the leading the votes early on in the competition, and Jahmene was right behind him. This pattern lasted for almost the entire competition, but in the week following James being in the bottom two, he surged ahead to the lead and never looked back. He won the final with 54% of the vote.
