‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8, episode 10 preview: Robin held captive

We have one final sneak peek to share from Monday night’s all-new “How I Met Your Mother” season 8 episode, and on this occasion, the focus is placed almost squarely on what happens when Robin tries to understand just what is going on inside of Barney’s head … at least courtesy of trying to snatch up his coveted playbook.

So is Robin really successful in this quest? Far from it. The start of the video below showcases her in a mad scramble to try to find a secret compartment holding the book, and instead she simply ends up finding a few other of Barney’s “prized possessions” (including the Bro Code and a signed book courtesy of David Lee Roth). Just when she is how on the trail, though, Barney walks in and starts to engage in a phone conversation with Patrice that suggests one thing and one thing only: he’s not planning to leave his apartment anytime soon.

Here is the question that we have after watching this clip: is Barney aware of there being a stowaway inside of his apartment? Some of the specific language that he uses seems to suggest so, and this could all be a part of some sort of elaborate plan to just force Cobie Smilders’ character into admitting how she really feels. This is turning out to be quite a difficult proposition; but considering that the episode airing following this one is entitled “The Final Page,” we are already starting to think as though a solution is coming up soon.
