‘Homeland’ season 2, episode 11 preview: A bad time to be Saul
How much does Saul really know? This is something that we are going to see put to the test on Sunday night’s penultimate episode of “Homeland” season 2, as the man is going to be locked up and handed a lie detector test really for no other reason than for being very good at his job. Mandy Patinkin’s character was smart to question who Quinn was and why he was communicating with some people who made little sense for a regular CIA operative to be in contact with, and what he found out as a result was pretty stunning: Quinn is a member of a black ops team, though Saul still has yet to piece together that he is really here to kill Brody the moment that Abu Nazir is dead.
So what is to gain by Estes putting this man through the wringer? He obviously is just curious as to how much the man knows about Quinn, or this is at least our interpretation of the sneak peek below. Saul is not told why he is being held in a room and forced to undergo the test, and the man asking the questions is someone that he has never met in his life.
The thing that makes Saul’s captivity all the more tragic here is that there is someone out on the field who could really benefit from knowing all the information in Carrie, at least when it comes to her own feelings for Brody. It’s hard to think that neither she nor Saul wants to see Brody die, but considering the people that want a bullet in his head now, it is going to be very difficult to keep him alive.
What do you think is going on with this interrogation scene? If you want to see another sneak peek from this episode focused more on Carrie and Quinn, you can check it out over here. We’ll have our full review of the episode as soon as it finishes airing.

I liked your comments, but I think this is a wink and nod to a previous episode, in which Saul evades taking a polygraph. In that episode, Saul is devastated from his wife’s decision to leave him. It was presented in the scene, that Saul was too angry and busy to take the polygraph, it may have an attempt to create more intrigue, your thoughts?
