‘Dexter’ season 7 spoilers: Can LaGuerta be stopped?
Watching the final two episodes of “Dexter” season 7 is going to be particularly interesting this year, mostly in how Dexter is about to learn about something that we have actually been privy to for some time: LaGuerta is still chugging along with her Bay Harbor Butcher investigation, and is going to be closer than ever to figuring out that Michael C. Hall’s character is the one responsible for killing all of those criminals and then framing Sargent Doakes for him.
How terrible of a situation will this end up being for Dexter? In many ways, it will be his toughest situation he faces all season given that he is not used to squaring off with opponents that he cannot kill without raising some suspicion. According to a new report from TV Guide, Dexter will try just about everything he can during Sunday night’s new episode to try and nudge LaGuerta and Matthews away from thinking that he is still the butcher. However, it also appears as though the vast majority of the tricks that he has are not going to work on her.
So where will Dexter go instead top stop the (metaphorical) bleeding? This should be the situation that is set up rather easily for the season finale. He cannot kill LaGuerta without Matthews knowing something is wrong, and having Hannah do it would be problematic for a trio of reasons:
1. She and Dexter may be on the rocks after Deb’s car accident.
2. Everyone in the homicide division knows that the two parties are together.
3. This would be too much of a copycat to having Lila kill Doakes at the end of season 2 (and it is actually pretty interesting that Lila has not been brought up once in the middle of all this).
Do you think Dexter is going to be able to get out of this? Be sure to share what you think below, and you can watch the promo for Sunday’s episode over here.
