‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: Check out Tyrion’s new scar!
In addition to the production video for “Game of Thrones” season 3 that HBO shared on Sunday night, we now have something else worth celebrating when it comes to the show: a video of the network’s highlights from 2012 that also provides a brief glimpse into what is coming up next year.
This video could not be any better-produced, as it shows off highlights of everything from “Girls” to “Boardwalk Empire” to what we saw from the world of Westeros this past year (including the spectacular Battle of Blackwater). Then, about thirty seconds before the clip ends, it transitions into some of what is going to be coming up next year. This gives us the first real glimpse at the gnarly scar that Tyrion is now sporting on his face, in addition to a brief shot of Dany alongside the Unsullied (who were spotted frequently while the show was filming in Morocco).
For those of you are lovers of all things HBO, this clip does show off some additional footage of “Girls” season 2, but sadly “True Blood,” “Veep,” and a few other programs like “The Newsroom” are shown off in such a generic fashion that it is really hard to tell if what we are looking at is new footage or just images flashing by from this year. (With “True Blood,” we know for sure that the show is really not going to dive deep into filming until next year.)
Although it may not ultimately be much, we will really take however much “Game of Thrones” footage we can at the moment given how long the wait is until the show returns to HBO with new episodes on March 31. In addition to that, we also do not know just yet how long it is going to take producers to release another actual trailer given the lack of new HBO programming to tie it into in the coming weeks.
