‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 3 finale: Lying in wait; an upcoming review
On Sunday night, HBO is set to close off their third season of “Boardwalk Empire” with plenty of surprises … and also a few jaw-dropping moments. While the show is clearly going to have a difficult time topping the death of Michael Pitt at the end of season 2, they are surely going to do their best to try. (Sadly, there has already been one major death this season already, and that will also be hard to top.)
So what transpired during the episode? Since we are writing this prior to 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, you will just have to wait for more on this for the time being save for what we have already told you. Instead, we will leave this page open for your gut reactions to the final episode of 2012, and we will be back a little later in the evening with some highlights from what transpired.
As you may have heard already, there is also a sneak preview of “Game of Thrones” season 3 that will be shown prior to the episode airing; and while we do not have an official video for this yet, either, you can check out what we know about this so far, be sure to head over to the link here.
“Boardwalk Empire” season 3 admittedly got off to a little bit of a slow start, and in some ways this season has been shadowed by some other high-profile 9:00 p.m. series including “Revenge,” “The Walking Dead,” and “Dexter.” However, this is really its night to shine (even with the “Walking Dead” midseason finale), and we will ensure that Nucky Thompson and company have their proper due a little bit later.
The best news? “Boardwalk Empire” has already been renewed for a fourth season, so there is no reason to worry about the show disappearing for any longer than usual after this episode.
Update: We will leave you now with this doozy after watching the episode: what a piece of storytelling this was. It was side, painful, and somehow managed to outdo even season 2. Of course, there is also a prevailing feeling of sadness now that Gyp Rossetti is gone, and Nucky is now deeper into darkness.

Just watched BE finale, very satisfying. Some questions as to the fate of a pretty important character.
