‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6 spoilers: The tables turn on Leonard, Penny

For much of the past few years on “The Big Bang Theory,” it has really felt like a show in Leonard is the one who is constantly pursuing Penny, and she in turn is just trying to do whatever she can to appease him and deal with all of his insecurities. Well, let’s just say that things are about to change in a pretty dramatic way. Remember Alex? Sheldon’s assistant has made her infatuation with Leonard fairly clear over the past several episodes that she is interested in him … even if he has not picked up on many of her hints. This story is going to come to a head, and it will be rather soon.

Speaking as a part of a new interview with TVLine, Kaley Cuoco does her best to explain that Penny will be dealing with some jealousy issues now in the wake of saying that she “loves” Leonard, especially now that she is in a vulnerable place and realizes that there are some reasons why her boyfriend would be considered a catch to other people:

“Actually, what we’re shooting this week has a lot to do with that storyline and her kind of being a little too flirty, and Penny feeling completely insecure about her relationship with Leonard — which is a good change, because Leonard’s always the one feeling insecure.”

At the end oft the day, we think the biggest issue that evolves out of this situation will not be that Leonard wants to cheat on his girlfriend by any means; rather, there just may be some resistance by him to ruffle any feathers with Alex, as he wrongfully thinks that her interest with him is strictly on a friendship level.
