NBC’s ‘The Voice’ review: Did Terry McDermott, Dez Duron survive another week?
We’ve debated the past few weeks as to whether or not “The Voice” or “The X Factor” is better, but we have to say one thing now with the utmost certainty now: we are totally on board the NBC show as the better of the two. Not only that, but this is actually a better show as a whole at this point than “American Idol.” Every single one of the top eight singers has some incredible talent, and they also are generally likable and unique. Maybe it’s just after watching the tear-fest that was Simon Cowell’s competition last week, but we just are starting to really get behind how fun and generally light-hearted this competition is. Even when there are serious moments, they at least feel as genuine as reality TV can feel.
In speaking of genuine moments, can we nominate Carson Daly putting the top eight on the radio as the best filler package of the season? This actually was something that was not only fun to watch, but it was actually useful as advice to any aspiring singers at home as to how to react.
Now, let’s get to the actual results from the show. the final four artists standing on stage were Cody Belew, Terry McDermott, Dez Duron, and Trevin Hunte … which should be a sign to everyone that the ladies are all faring very well at the moment with the voting public. Terry and Trevin ended up being saved, and with that we ended up seeing the end to both Cody and Dez on the show. Shockingly, Christina Aguilera no longer has any team members left.
What do you think about the way in which this show played out, and do you think that the right people went home?
