‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Ian Somerhlader and ‘shady Stefan’

“The Vampire Diaries” season 4 has unleashed yet another sneak peek from Thursday night’s new episode “My Brother’s Keeper,” and this one highlights something that any longtime fan of the show has to know and appreciate: the sibling rivalry between Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley’s characters.

So what is going on now? In the video below, you can see Damon and Stefan having what is in their sense a heart-to-heart. Stefan is trying to plot his next move in solving the mystery of the hunters, and Damon reveals that Professor Shane has been hiding a number of secrets when it comes to just what sort of people he has spent his time with as of late … including a certain council that blew themselves up earlier. Shane is going to be the key to finding the next vampire hunter out there, but the obstacle will be finding a way to convince him to help.

As fascinating as all of this is, we have a feeling that what many people are going to be a little bit more interested in here is hearing Stefan announce to his brother that he and Elena are no more, and Damon tries to console him by saying that they can go have some crazy vampire fun over at the local sorority house. The problem? Stefan is having none of it, since he knows full well that somewhere inside of him, his brother is happy about the opportunity to have Elena as his own.
