‘Big Brother Canada’: Tour the house (so far) and check out casting highlights
Even though “Big Brother Canada” is not going to be airing on Slice until the new year, we’re doing our best to keep tabs on everything that is going on when it comes to construction, casting, and all sorts of other associated pre-show content leading up to the houseguests actually coming in and hopefully causing mountains of drama.
Let’s start with the latest from “ET Canada,” who had an opportunity to actually take a brief tour of the massive house that is being built in the Toronto area for the show. Like with the American version airing on CBS, there will be a place for a live studio audience during the eviction shows, and we also will have such staples as the Diary Room still around.
Here’s just some of the crazy facts about the house thus far: it contains 75,000 feet of wood, 70,000 feet of drywall, and even the backyard will technically be indoors (which makes some sense, given how freezing cold it is north of the border this time of year). For those curious, the backyard for the American show is outdoors, but it is located in a location that is still protected so that there is no chance for outside interference. (Yes, it’s true that people have tried to fly messages over the house before.)
In addition to all of this, you can check out some of the east coast casting highlights in the video below, which even includes a cameo appearance from one Mike “Boogie” Malin, who is sadly not wearing one of his ridiculous shirts like he was during season 14. If producers somehow do find another Boogie we would be thrilled, and at least they have the opportunity to go after what is a pretty untapped pool of hopefuls given the lack of a show like this in Canada.
