‘Downton Abbey’ season 3: Want to see Bates set free?
It feels as though we have been focusing on a plethora of serious subjects as of late when it comes to “Downton Abbey,” so isn’t this the prime time instead to focus on a bit of fun? With that in mind, we’re going to talk a little bit about one of the new promotions that is currently being put on by the show’s network in ITV over in the United Kingdom.
If you are a user of Pinterest, you will be pleased the know that the show is looking for some of the biggest diehard fans to contribute to a virtual gallery that may as well be called the “Free Bates” campaign. Want to be a part of it? It’s really rather simple: all you have to do is create an image of some sort either captioning a picture that is already out there or creating one of yourself using some sort of declaration of how you want to see the former Downton valet set free.
So what is actually going to be coming up for Bates this season? The fear at this point is that his relationship with Anna is going to start falling to pieces thanks to his imprisonment, and she is going to start acting fearful (at least per the show’s latest promo) that he is starting to give up rather than to continue to be optimistic that his name would be cleared.
Do you want to see Bates set free sooner rather than later on the show? We want to hear some of your thoughts with a comment below!

The program would be vastly improved if the Bates character was written out. What a wooden actor and ridiculous story line. I’ll be fast forwarding past every one of his scenes if he’s still around in 3.

I think it would add more reality and depth if Bates were allowed to wallow for awhile. I love the character, but imagine how much he a man like him might be affected by such an experience. He might suffer from some PTSD when he got out.
