When is The Flash – Legends of Tomorrow Gorilla Grodd crossover coming?
In a new post on Twitter, show executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed that “Welcome to the Jungle” is the title for the upcoming seventh episode of Legends of Tomorrow season 3, and just to stir up even more excitement, he also has what we like to think of as a gorilla print on the cover. Given the history of Grodd in the jungle, plus also the report that have been already out there, it feels pretty clear that this is when you’re going to see the big event take place.
It’s fairly easy to be psyched about what will be coming here, but we’ll admit that there are also some reservations creeping around in the back of our mind. Our CarterMatt reviews for the most-recent episodes of The Flash featuring this character were not the most positive in the world, thanks largely to the fact that Grodd really wasn’t in the episodes all that much. As much as the character is fantastic and super-powerful, he’s also expensive and there’s only so much that the special-effects team can do with him without getting completely over-budget. That is why there are so many limitations to what the show can do here; even if we would love to see more of Grodd the character coming up, that doesn’t mean that there is anything that the producers can do about it. We’re sure that they would love to use him more if they had the means to make it happen, as well.
Beyond just Grodd, we know that the Legends of Tomorrow have some other big-time threats coming in season 3. Kuasa from the Vixen lore will be a big-time villain this season, and the same goes for a returning Damien Darhk. Neal McDonough is coming back now as a series regular.
