Chicago Fire season 6 premiere: What’s happening with Sylvie Brett?
The photo above is one of the first official shots by NBC for the upcoming episode airing later this month entitled “It Wasn’t Enough, and it features Kara Killmer’s character getting all dressed up, presumably for some sort of event or night on the town. It’s also a great picture if you love reflection shows; it’s certainly one that’s different than what we’re used to getting from the network in terms of promotional photos.
So could there be something special going on here like a Brettonio date? We’d love that, but most indications that are out there right now suggest that this is something that is coming up a little bit later down the road. In the immediate future what you’re more likely to see is Brett just trying to enjoy her life, which may be difficult at times when it comes to everything that is weighing on her. She’s got a stressful job for one, but beyond that there’s also the issue of her and many other members of Firehouse 51 recovering from whatever happens in the premiere. It’s a scary situation, and even if all of the characters involved managed to make it through alive, there’s still no guarantee that they all return to work. Remember that after nearly dying, it can cause someone to think about their priorities and what they want out of life.
Here is one thing CarterMatt knows: A friend of Brett’s in Hope is going to be arriving to Chicago. She grew up in a small town, so this is going to be a chance to see a character explore the city and the show through someone who has never experienced anything like it before. Maybe this will also be useful to viewers who are just starting to get into the show for the first time. They can see the show through a very specific lens, and there has to be something that is inviting through that. There are some opportunities here to craft another romantic subplot, as it’s possible that someone in the firehouse develops a romantic interest in the Hope character.
If you are hungry for some more news here, we interviewed Chicago Fire executive producer Derek Haas last week. That interview, which includes more on Brett and Hope, is going to air as we get a little bit closer to the premiere coming on the air.
For those of you Brettonio fans…
The biggest thing to remind you of is that Antonio Dawson’s got plenty incentive to keep coming back to the firehouse. For one, his sister works alongside Brett … and we think that he does still have some of those feelings for Sylvie. We just have to see him in the place where he’s ready.
Have you see the Chicago Fire season 6 promo?
If you haven’t for whatever reason, don’t worry! We’ve got a video for you over at the link here that is worth checking out. (Photo: NBC.)
