America’s Got Talent bringing back Pompeyo Family Dogs as wild-card act
In a new post on Twitter, the family confirmed that they were selected with the honor of being the semifinal wild-cards this season. This move doesn’t surprise us, given that they bring a touch of fun and variety to a season dominated mostly by singers. Also, their elimination was a little bit of a shock when it first happened, especially when you consider the quality of the routine that they brought to the show.
Do they have a chance of actually moving on to the finale following this coming show? Anything is possible, but for the historical track record of wild-card acts going far – it isn’t great. They are going to be part of a show that includes the likes of Colin Cloud, Mandy Harvey, Light Balance, and Merrick Hanna who are all heavy hitters. One of the things that we do think they have going for them is that there are several young singers who could cancel each other out in Celine Tam, Angelica Hale, and Christian Guardino. Meanwhile, we think that In the Stairwell is probably a long shot given that the Greater Works Choir was unable to advance. Right now, we’d say that Mandy, Diavolo, and Light Balance are the three favorites to advance from this group — we’re especially hopeful that we get to see Light Balance give one of their proper shows given how badly they were screwed over this past time by a technical malfunction.
In speaking about malfunctions, the only person we thought could have gotten this spot without much objection, (beyond the Pompeyo Family Dogs) was Demian Aditya. In some ways, you can argue that he didn’t have much of a chance to advance given that a technical malfunction in the middle of his performance completely ruined his ability to succeed. Nothing went according to plan, and he had to do what he could to carry on during it. We just hope for his sake that this is not one of those occasions where he actually ends up losing work because of something that happened with him on the show.
Who are the overall America’s Got Talent favorites right now?
If we had to guess, we’d say that we’re going to see a lot of Mandy, Preacher Lawson, and Darcy Lynne. They’ve been fairly untouchable so far this season, and they bring everything from great performances to originality. There are some other singers and acts with comedic tinges to them, but they do something very much different and bring a lot of great stuff to the table.
Do you think that the Pompeyo Family Dogs were the right wild-card choice?

Demian deserved the wildcard because the crew ruined his act and he should have been given a second chance. At the very least, AGT should have shown his dress rehearsal recording after the malfunction.
