Law & Order: SVU season 19 spoilers: Annabeth Gish of X-Files to appear
Recently, we reported about how Gish (also known for Sons of Anarchy, Halt and Catch Fire, and The Bridge) is going to be returning to The X-Files for the upcoming eleventh season. Today, we can also confirm via TVLine that the actress will be appearing in the upcoming third episode of the NBC series — which is currently filming. She is going to be playing the part of a defense attorney, one that of course is going to find herself in the midst of a complicated case. A man is reportedly castrated and “left for dead” in the episode, and that leads Olivia Benson and the rest of her team to figure who the responsible party is and why they may have done the act. There are three suspects they’ll be circling in this episode, and it should prove interesting seeing how they are all tied to the man (provided that they even are).
Gish is joining a roster of recurring and guest players for season 19 that is certainly rather impressive, given that the roster includes the legendary Brooke Shields (in a part that she claims is different than she’s ever played before) alongside former Chicago Justice star Philip Winchester in the role of Peter Stone, the character he popularized on that show. His ties to the Law & Order franchise stem from the character’s last name. Remember that these are just the guest stars announced to date, and knowing this show there’ll be more that are announced as we do inch ever closer to the premiere.
Getting these great guest stars is essential for a couple of different reasons: It helps to ensure that SVU has the best group of people possible, and it also gives it that much more of a ratings boost. One of the joys that comes with this show having story-of-the-week plots is that you can jump on board for an episode and appreciate it without having a whole lot of knowledge of anything else that has transpired. If you’re a Gish fan who hasn’t seen much SVU over the years, you’ll be able to enjoy this and not be too lost.
SVU premieres with its landmark 19th season this fall on NBC. More than likely, Annabeth’s episode will air in October. Once some additional news is available, you better believe that we’ll have some more information here!

I’m just hoping that with the addition of the Peter Stone character, it doesn’t mean that Raul Esparza’s Rafael Barba doesn’t get his screen time cut…I enjoy watching Mariska & Raul interacting on screen & miss it when he is not included in a episode! JMO
