Turn: Washington’s Spies season 4 episode 9 video: Brewster’s search

Turn: Washington's Spies

Turn: Washington’s Spies season 4 episode 9 is airing this weekend on AMC, and based on where we are, this is a more important episode that most. There are only two more to go in the entire series, and with that, the show needs to establish closure.

We know that Yorktown will be a key component in this upcoming hour, just as we’re also very much aware that the end of the war won’t just mean instant closure for many of these characters. You have to take victory in stages with this show, and realize that many things don’t come easy. This will be more than true with this show as there is still such a great deal to resolve in terms of content.

The sneak peek below mostly does a good job in creating what is a rather singular mission: Brewster desperately seeking Abe. He is able to find another American soldier, but it’s not who he was initially looking for. We don’t think it’s spoiling much to say that Woodhull is still alive — we saw the position that he was in after fleeing the British last week and nearly killing Simcoe. The mystery of the episode involves him coming back, and of course how he comes back and what he chooses to do with some of his power from here.

There is a great deal for the show to resolve in these final episodes, and having seen tonight’s installment, the biggest thing that we can tell you is to anticipate more violence and action than we’ve seen on the show in a while. There will be more of an epic scale, even if in the process the series is not losing entirely the individual focus on the Culper Ring. That will still be there, and regardless of how the story ends this time, there will be something left over for the series finale. Kudos to the folks over at AMC for giving us four seasons of this show, and allowing the team a chance to see this story through. While you always want more of a show you enjoy, it’s rather rare these days to even get this many episodes of a program that you love working on and being a part of.

What are your expectations for tonight’s episode?
