This Psych: The Movie training video with James Roday, Dule Hill will bring you joy

Psych: The Movie video

There is a new Psych: The Movie video out there thanks to San Diego Comic-Con, and there is only one word for it: Glorious. Also, here’s another word: Pineapple.

This video is effectively a training montage for James Roday and Dule Hill as they settle back into their roles of Shawn Spencer and Burton Guster. As you would assume, it takes a great deal of time, energy, and commitment to play guys who slack off this much — you need to adjust your facial expressions, remember hilariously awkward nicknames for Gus, associate yourself with pineapples, and say a wide array of signature catchphrases — “I’ve heard it both ways,” “come on, son,” and many more. It’s a hoot to watch, and it probably was just as much fun for the guys to actually film. We all love Psych, but the thing to remember here is that so did the cast! They lived in this skin for so many years, and they have a deep affection and attachment for these people. They care about them more than anyone, and they obviously didn’t want to come back solely for the sake of coming back. There had to be a reason for it, and that reason is hopefully going to showcase itself wonderfully on the movie when it airs at the end of the year.

Here’s what you need to know about Psych: The Movie, in the event that you’re hearing about it for the first time now. Many of the stars of the original show are coming back, and while Timothy Omundson is still recovering from a stroke, all indications at the convention suggest that he will be around for one especially memorable scene. Provided that there is another movie — and why won’t there be? — there could be a chance to use him more. (For the record, the entire crowd at San Diego Comic-Con today wished Tim well via a message that was recorded. Hopefully, he’ll be around the next time in which the show is at the convention.)

The majority of the action in the movie looks to be taking place in San Francisco, while Zachary Levi is going to be starring as the main villain in Thin White Duke. While there are some villains on this show over the years who’ve been your typical murderers, robbers, and the like, the Duke here has a motivation that is strictly to try and take Team Psych down a peg in any way that he possibly can. Odds are, this will be hilarious.
