Are NCIS season 15, NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 adding new characters?
According to Showbiz 411, there are the two characters you will meet in the new seasons of these shows, though there no details as to when they would show up.
Reagan – She is a woman in her forties with a background in psychology, and seemingly has no issue at all going toe to toe with Agent Gibbs. It’s also possible that she could become a love interest. It does make sense for Gibbs to have one again at some point. (Provided that this is accurate, it’s possible that the character’s name changes between now and the start of the new season.)
Unnamed NCIS: LA character – She is a new Assistant Director in her forties, and described as “Confident & clever, with a sense of humor, an authoritative figure who takes over operations when needed. She’s a natural leader with a strong presence, but not afraid to get her hands dirty in the field if necessary.”
For now, take this report with a slight grain of salt since nothing is confirmed (and ignore the speculation on the site about Linda Hunt leaving for now); with that said, there are elements that make sense. Unfortunately, NCIS: LA lost the late Miguel Ferrer (who played Assistant Director Granger) this past season, and Jennifer Esposito is departing NCIS proper after one season on the year. There are technically spots on both shows that could be filled, provided that the two don’t want to streamline things out with the cast they already have. Look at Criminal Minds as an example of what CBS’ casting strategy seems to be right now — even though the show removed Damon Gupton from the equation, they are bringing someone else in Daniel Henney onto the show, giving it the same number of regulars that it had previously.
These seasons will start filming in the weeks to come, so it shouldn’t be long before we start to figure out what both NCIS and NCIS: LA have planned.
