The Night Shift season 4 episode 2 spoilers: TC’s struggle; will Paul return?
Meanwhile, back at the hospital there are going to be a wide array of other problems, including tension between Paul and his father as Jordan helps to play mediator. Let’s face it — The Night Shift wouldn’t be what it is without Paul, and trying to get him back is pretty darn integral to the story to come.
The synopsis below offers up a little more news, including more regarding how you will see Mark Consuelos’ character of Cain be integrated into the plot:
The Night Shift season 4 episode 2 synopsis – “After performing a daring on-site rescue to save a teenage girl, Drew (Brendan Fehr) is forced to re-evaluate his priorities as a new father. Back at the hospital, the ER is flooded with mass casualty victims from an amusement park disaster. Hoping to get Paul (Robert Bailey Jr.) back on staff, Jordan (Jill Flint) facilitates a rapprochement between Paul and his father (guest star James McDaniel). Meanwhile, Scott (Scott Wolf) pursues a more active role in the hospital. Kenny (JR Lemon) tries to put Cain (guest star Mark Consuelos) in his place, but Cain’s deft handling of an emergency shows Kenny that he may have bit off more than he can chew.”
Basically, this is a show with new challenges and new characters, but it’s keeping the soul of the old Night Shift intact: Strong medical drama mixed with high-stakes action and character development.
The promo below focuses almost entirely on the TC / Syd drama, and it absolutely looks like it’s going to be one of the most intense, unforgettable episodes of the show we’ve seen in a while. Our advice there is pretty clear: Be ready for what’s next.

Yes, Topher is supposively dead or Jordan found out that TC is missing in action. Which will make his eventual return to the hospital all the more dramatic . Let’s face it TC strives on dramatic events and I don’t know if Syd is going to be a main character this season and If she is they might put her and TC together at least temporary. For me I would like to see Jordan and TC together or at least have them be the end game when it’s all said and done. I like this new bad a** version of Jordan and I think she fits TC perfectly. I am hoping that we see more of Drew figuring out how to be a new father and we see more of Briana in season four. I always like that dynamic between them and I like the actress that plays Briana. Good luck season four because I am hoping for a season five. I also hope that it does not take TC to long to get back to the states. As for Paul and his father I believe Paul wants his independence and he cares for his co-workers and the patients. His father only appears to care about the bottom line at least on the surface. I suspect their is more depths to his father than Paul realizes. I also believe that the father should allow Paul to make his way,he has done quite well thus far. Paul sees his coworkers and patients as his family and he wants to be separate from his father to make his way on his own. Please do not give Scott a position of authority in the hospital because that would be a complete mistake. The man is too rigid to be in charge of anything let alone a hospital. I truly do believe that in order to learn anything you need to have rules but you also need to be a little bit flexiable and Scott is to the letter. Which means he is unable to make split second decisions. Night Shift is definitely the modern day version of Mash! I can’t wait to see the look on Jordan’s face when TC eventually returns to the hospital.

Do you think Topher is dead? Judging from Jordan’s face in the preview, somebody died.
