Major Crimes season 6: Amriah Vann set to recur
The former Underground star, Amirah Vann, has booked a recurring role for the upcoming season 6 of TNT’s hit crime drama, Major Crimes.
According to a report from Deadline, Vann is set to play Special Agent Jazzma Fey, an agent who will have her loyalty tested when a partner is determined to score political points. Meanwhile, Jazzma wants to focus on the crime.
Vann’s character certainly seems to have the potential to be a welcomed force within the LAPD’s special squad given that Special Agent Fey is a team player and has the drive to want to solve the crime. However, she could also be a major conflict for the team, especially for newly-made Commander Sharon Raydor (played by Mary McDonnell). Sharon has always had a thing for the rulebook so she could see Jazzma as someone who cannot see the difference between right and wrong. A conflict between the two could be entertaining to watch because the audience loves when Sharon has someone to go up against. That was shown when Deputy Chief Winnie Davis (played by Camryn Mannheim) recurred this past season. It was great to see these two strong women go head-to-head and, maybe, Special Agent Fey is Sharon’s new challenge.
Her unknown partner, on the other hand, sounds like someone who the Major Crimes squad will battle with and work against throughout the season.
No matter the direction Vann’s character takes, the addition of Amirah Vann is one the audience should look forward to.
TNT’s Major Crimes centers around an elite squad within the LAPD that takes on high-profile or sensitive cases. She joins an ensemble cast lead by Oscar and Emmy nominee Mary McDonnell, and also stars G.W Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Philip P. Keene, Kearran Giovanni, Jonathan Del Arco, Graham Patrick Martin, Leonard Roberts, and Jessica Meraz.
In addition to her recent role on the currently-canceled Underground, Vann appeared on HBO’s Girls and Amazon Studios’ Mozart in the Jungle. She has also starred in films such as Tracers with Taylor Lautner along with And So It Goes with Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton.
