Quantico season 3 spoilers: Who else is leaving the show?

While you wait for Quantico season 3 to premiere at midseason, there is another unfortunate departure that we have to inform you about.

If you remember back to our original report from a few days ago, the show is already set to lose the characters of Rimah and Raina. Now, it looks like Dayana will be joining them out the door. TVLine is reporting that Pearl Thusi will be departing the show and won’t be back in a major way during the upcoming season.

As for the reasoning behind this, much of it seems to be due mostly to a massive creative overhaul that is happening with the series behind the scenes. Showrunner Josh Safran is departing, and the direction for the next batch of new episodes remains unclear. What is all the more interesting is that the Priyanka Chopra series already had one sort of creative overhaul during the second season, as the show shifted itself more to a procedural format as we got into the final batch of episodes. There was still a long-term narrative, but it was much easier to follow along and didn’t have the same specific twists and turns that transformed the entire narrative into a giant bubbling cauldron.

Will there be new cast members who come in to replace some of those that have left? Maybe, but it’s no guarantee. The thing here to remember is that the first two seasons were pretty massive in terms of cast, and there could be a case for the show wanting to scale back a little bit now and focus more on some of the characters we’ve already come to know. Also, it would save them some money, and with lower ratings, there is likely a little less money that the show even has to spend.

Alas, you’ll still be waiting for some time to know specific news regarding when Quantico season 3 is filming, or who is going to be a part of it if someone new is hired. Beyond that, you’ll be waiting even longer to learn the premiere date since that won’t be potentially announced until the fall at the earliest.
