MacGyver season 2: Lucas Till reflects on Hawaii Five-0 crossover, talks casino episode
Take, for example, that a “casino episode may be in the mix” for the upcoming season! Till noted to the attendees in the room that he’s just learned about many of the upcoming stories; he couldn’t say too much, but it seems to be a further effort to bridge together the world of the original show and the new one. He feels that “by the end of [season 1], we were able to say that this was its own thing” after trying to find that balance in the beginning.
As for the subject of crossovers, a question (submitted by CarterMatt in advance of the event) was asked about revisiting a Hawaii Five-0 crossover; it certainly sounds as though Till would be game for more! He really “enjoyed” the first one, saying that it was “really great to work with a parallel group of people … They’ve been doing it for seven years.” He found that it was great to get some advice from people who have been doing it for as long as they have.
As for some other crossover episodes, Till also made it clear that he’d love to do something on Scorpion, noting that he knew one of the guys from the cast. Given that it is also set within that same universe already (both it and Hawaii Five-0 have crossover over with NCIS: Los Angeles), that is something that would be great to be explored a little bit down the line.
Season 2 of MacGyver premieres this fall both on Global in Canada and CBS in the United States. Based on the way that season 1 ended, here’s to hoping for some more great showdowns involving MacGyver and Murdoc, the infamous criminal who also escaped at the end of the first season. That was one of those moments that you probably knew was going to happen, but were equally excited to see it regardless.
