This Is Us season 2 ‘spoilers’ handed down on Red Nose Day
Here’s what made this sketch so funny. Basically, it revolved around a wide array of This Is Us season 2 ‘spoilers’ being handed down. Here are some of the plot details handed down:
1. Randall is going to find out that William is still alive — not only that, but that he is secretly his brother.
2. Kate ends up dating Dennis Rodman … and then Dennis Quaid. Apparently, it is incredibly easy to get people named Dennis confused in this world.
3. Jack donates a kidney.
4. Apparently, Randall’s getting a divorce.
Of course, the entire sketch was created as a means to promote Red Nose Day and encourage folks out there to donate — and so many of them did! More than $33 million was handed down by the end of the show to help children in need all over the country. It’s one of those rare things that you like to think actually unifies people as a country rather than slowly tearing them apart at the seams.
Then again, This Is Us is a show with a similar effect in that it strips away much of the bluster and the façade that can come with life and brings you to your core. It’s a show about family, about love, about relationships. It’s also a show that makes you cry into so many tissue-boxes that by the time a season is over, you’ve completely went through the entire industrial-sized collection that you got at Costco. It’s one of TV’s finest shows and its most devastating to boot.
For those who did miss the news — it’s understandable, given that this is May and there are around 2,000 different things going on at every millisecond, This Is Us season 2 will be airing in a new timeslot on Thursdays after spending the first season airing on Tuesday nights. It’s easy to be bummed out by this, but also understandable that NBC wants to make Must-See TV into a thing again after it spent so much time floating in nothingness and a shell of its former self.
Hopefully, NBC will do the right thing and release a new This Is Us season 2 trailer over the summer — our hearts are going to need it by the time September rolls around.
