Supergirl season 2 finale spoilers: Will Superman help stop Rhea?

Supergirl season 2 finale

The Supergirl season 2 finale is going to be airing on The CW next week, and with that, Superman is going to be heading back! It’s nice to have Tyler Hoechlin finally back on the show after being gone since the start of the season. Beyond that, he’ll prove useful in the final battle, an intense one that features him going head-to-head finally with Rhea and the rest of her own army. There are two different forces getting set to clash, and this could lead to the most epic crisis in the history of the entire show.

As for some other good news, Cat Grant is sticking around! Calista Flockhart will be around for one more episode, and she will have an important role yet again in plotting out the future of Supergirl the hero.

Supergirl season 2 finale synopsis – “Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) challenges Rhea (guest star Teri Hatcher) to battle to save National City. Meanwhile, Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) returns and Cat Grant (guest star Calista Flockhart) offers Supergirl some sage advice.”

As for how much closure the finale is going to give up over the course of the hour, the current impression is that the show will likely end in a way that the first one did. There will be a little bit of resolution to the course of events, and then also a cliffhanger-of-sorts most likely to set up season 3. To date, one of the only things that is known about that is that Katie McGrath will be a regular for its entirety in the role of Lena Luthor. What that role will be is one of several different things worth exploring over the course of that season.

Beyond the story, just be excited for the time being that the show will continue to be back with new episodes. The renewal happened, after all, many weeks ago!
