Shark Tank star Daymond John discusses cancer diagnosis, treatment
While on Good Morning America earlier today, the Shark and FUBU fashion icon described the process of finding out that he had a “nodule” on his thyroid, which he got removed. It turned out that this said nodule was stage 2 cancer, and this move helped him to be even more aware of taking care of his health and trying to be there for others moving forward.
After having the part of his thyroid removed, John told Robin Roberts (a cancer survivor in her own right) that he never decided to do anything other than fight:
“I didn’t skip a beat … I understood that I had a challenge and if I would attack it now, then I wouldn’t have let it attack me and I had that removed. I didn’t miss anything; I was out partying and dancing two days later, not that I should’ve.”
This has been a very eventful year for many of the Sharks outside of the Tank, in between Kevin O’Leary’s political run in Canada, Mark Cuban offering up a good bit of discourse, and of course now everything that Daymond is doing in terms of his own personal life. The show will hopefully have a chance to be a little bit more refreshed moving into the fall, and we’ll see what sort of products and deals potentially await many of the Sharks.
For the time being, there is very little to say other than congratulations to Daymond for finding out about the problem early, and now encouraging others to keep aware of their own potential health issues. The more than that they do this, the better they will be able to tackle some of their own problems moving forward.
