Shark Tank: Rumi Spice, Thompson Tee, Wallet Buckle, Peoples Design (preview)

Rumi Spice

Rumi Spice, Thompson Tee, Wallet Buckle, and Peoples Design are the four products appearing on Shark Tank tonight, and it’s a really varied lineup! We can envision all of these various companies getting some sort of investment after the show, so there should be a lot of excitement that comes out of seeing a lot of them wheel and deal. Sure, there are some problems (high valuation, a terrible name for one of them), but these are issues that can be overcome.

Before we get to handing out sneak peeks for the episode, let’s go ahead and share our official synopsis now courtesy of ABC:

“Two entrepreneurs from Placentia, California, pitch their solution to embarrassing underarm sweat marks and stains; brothers and best friends from Walnut Creek, California, believe their belt buckle that doubles as a wallet is the most convenient way to carry your essentials; U.S. Army veterans from Chicago, Illinois, hope to empower farmers in a war-torn country by helping them cultivate and harvest saffron; and a former executive chef from Colorado Springs, Colorado, with an unlikely story, thinks his multi-purpose mixing bowl will become the next go-to kitchen gadget. Also, a follow-up with Robin “Wombi” Rose and John Wise from Cambridge, Massachusetts, and their 3D paper pop-up greeting cards, LovePop, that Kevin O’Leary invested in during season seven.”

Thompson Tee – These guys claim to have an undershirt that will block all sweat, and therefore save you from any embarrassing situations. Does it work better than anything else out there? If they can convince the Sharks, the market appeal here is worth the high valuation.

Peoples Design – The bowl that this guy’s promoting is almost tailor-made for infomercials, and it brings a lot to the table. It has multiple uses, it saves time, and it also doesn’t look like an eyesore. The biggest issue that we actually have here is the name, since it doesn’t really tell you anything about what this product is. We had a horrible time trying to find it online as a result.

Rumi Space – We really like the idea and the setup of the brand — it’s all about promoting a positive depiction of Afghanistan featuring combat veterans, and they’re specifically highlighting saffron. The price on this isn’t bad in comparison to the stuff at the store, and you know you’re getting it from a great source! It’s memorable, and the saffron market’s pretty vast — even though there are tons of competitors.

Wallet Buckle – It’s an inspired, crazy twist on a credit card and a belt buckle. It may not make sense on paper, but then it does.
