Arrow season 5 spoilers: How much of Felicity’s dark side will we see?

How much of Felicity’s dark side will surface of Arrow season 5? We’re going to be seeing some of it come Wednesday night’s new episode. Her relationship with Helix has in some ways strengthened, but there is still a pretty major problem that she is going to encounter moving forward — their interests not exactly aligning with her own. This is going to cause problems, especially in terms of the relationship (or lack thereof) that exists between her and Oliver.

If you are interested no in getting some other insight on the episode ahead, you don’t have to look any further! Here is what executive producer Wendy Mericle had to say about Felicity’s direction to Entertainment Weekly:

“We will definitely get more info on Helix. We’re super psyched about this episode because it is really Felicity’s Dark Night of the Soul. We’re not going to wrap it up here, but we’re definitely going to take her to one of the darkest places we’ve ever seen her character go. Because she’s gone down this rabbit hole with Helix, she’s going to find out that — as per usual when people get themselves involved with these organizations — things aren’t always as they seem. Even though she has been really blinded by her drive to get Adrian Chase, I think she’s going to come out of this asking some pretty tough questions about herself and her moral decisions, and there’s a pretty big fight with Oliver, too.”

Even if there is some significant tension that is coming between Oliver and Felicity, they are going to have some time to look further at their relationship … and maybe even consider getting back together at the same time. After all, we’ve seen some proof via the recent trailer that these two could be considering a romantic reconciliation by the end of season 5. Not only that, but they will be spending almost the entirety of “Underneath” (the new episode that is airing a week from Wednesday night) with each other trying to work through much of everything that they’ve been through.

If these two do want to have any hope at being in a relationship moving forward, the reality does remain that they know each other better than anyone.
