Homeland season 7 premiere date: When could Claire Danes show return?
With that, let’s start to figure out just when Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin, and the rest of the cast could be back on Showtime once more with new episodes. The first possibility that we can rule out is a start date seemingly coming in the fall, which is when the first five seasons of the show aired. If that was going to happen, we figure that the show would have to be far deeper into the planning process than it is. Given that this is one of the best shows on the air, you don’t want to rush quality. At the earliest, we foresee Shameless staying on the air in the fall while Homeland ends up coming on the air once more in January or February.
Odds are, Showtime will reveal an official premiere date in either the late summer or the fall. They’ll want to start promoting it around then, hoping to see if they can keep the show from losing any more of its live+same day ratings. That decline is something that we did see happen for most of season 6 in comparison to past years of the show. (More than likely, it did make up any ratings differences during the week — this is often what happens when you have more and more viewers switching to streaming.)
For those who are already wondering, rest assured that this is not the final season of the show and with that, there is no immediate reason to worry. There will be a season 8 beyond this, and most signs indicate that this will be the end. Showtime series do tend to have a cap around season 8, given that very few of them do end up sticking around on the air beyond that. If one could make it to season 9 it’d be this one, but we don’t get the sense that this is something that the writers and producers are planning out, at least for the time being.
When do you want the Homeland season 7 premiere date to be, and what are you anticipating for the entirety of the series as a whole? Be sure to share some of your thoughts now with a comment!

I am not sure I will have any interest in season 7. Season 4 left me wanting an ending for the entire Brody family. Just 3 minutes of Carrie telling them he did die a hero and was innocent of the blast in Virginia would have done it.. Season six turned left… Very left… Season 1-4 dealt with very real discussions about Islam and fighting terrorism and stating some truths about the situation as only conservatives and middle America would see it… Season six started with the hilarious situation of a woman that was elected president with a thinly vailed resemblance to Hillary Clinton. Filming obviously happened before the election and liberals were so sure she would win they cast a woman as president. Carrie was all peace and love with a kumbayah tone to the Hillary Clinton stand in….. Saul went to the West Bank of Israel and gave his sister a PLO/Hezbollah lecture on getting out of land that did not belong to Israel… Carrie ends up bowing down to DCFS (another out of control useless government agency) that conservatives know is used as a PC weapon against so many people… Then there was the evil right wing conservative hate monger very, very thinly vailed attempt to make him a Glen Beck alike… He was a caricature of what every liberal thinks about talk radio and fly over country… I am sure they tried to portray them as they saw him but it was just so over the top and stereotypical you could not help but feel sad for the poor demented actors thinking this was a fair portrayal of him and then too the General…. All and all there were so many predictable, unbelievable and missing parts to the show I really did not even want to see the finally… I don’t really care when it will come back… I will just treasure seasons 1-5 and leave it at that…
