MacGyver episode 21 (finale) spoilers: MacGyver vs. Murdoc, one more time
Before we do too much else, let’s go ahead and share a few more details regarding what’s coming up.
MacGyver episode 21 synopsis – “Murdoc moves forward with his plans for revenge against MacGyver by recruiting his recently released former cellmate to infiltrate the Phoenix Complex as a “lab technician” and kill every agent inside.”
One other thing that you should expect here is an interesting upending of any common expectations that you have for these finale episodes, ones that you assume that the hero will automatically be okay just because they are the hero. This is something that we discussed at length recently with David Dastmalchian, who is responsible for the Murdoc character. This is going to be a crazy, intense finale, and one that should pick up almost immediately where tonight’s episode leaves off in terms of crazy events.
While season 2 was not ordered officially at the time in which this episode was written, we’re still feel as though the writers were pretty darn confident based on the ratings that it would be coming back. As a result of that, it wouldn’t shock us at all in the event there is some sort of epic cliffhanger in here, one that sets up perfectly where the show could start off when it does return, presumably a little bit later this fall.
One final request before we sign off here — can we have 22 episodes next season at least? The 21-episode order is a little odd, but it makes sense given that at the time more episodes were ordered, CBS thought they were going to air The Amazing Race this month. That only changed after MacGyver had already cemented its own plans for the remainder of the season.
What do you think is going to happen on MacGyver episode 21? Who are you the most worried about at the moment? Be sure to let us know one way or another in the comments below!
